Lesson 16 Synopsis - USB, MIDI and Electronic Music

The keyboard synthesizer came more widely into use among musicians and within the recording industry back in the early 1980s—a factor which radically changed production and recording styles for a lot of projects. This lesson will explore the continually expanding field of electronic music, a fairly extensive area of knowledge with which any modern audio engineer should be well-acquainted. This part of the music industry is definitely the technology of the future, and there is enough work in the field of digital and electronic music that many studios choose to make it a full-time specialty. As you study the technological aspects of audio with the text and with your instructor, you might even find yourself drawn to specialize in this area.
